I'm so excited to show off my newest alphabet print!

I made the original individual animal alphabet prints a few years ago, and have been adding to them ever since. I have seven letters that have more than one animal, and always wished I could use them in other projects.

So I decided to do another poster/print with the animal prints, but utilizing some of the animals that are not in the original animal alphabet print. I love how it turned out! I decided to go with a horizontal orientation as well, just to change it up some.

Makeover

my favorite combination of animal alphabet prints

When I first made my animal alphabet series of prints I was in love. It took me a long, long time to finish this series and when it was completed I was so excited to list them in the shop.

But as time has gone on I've stared at these prints I so adore and wished they had a more defined color palette. Having some free time this weekend, I decided to sit down and construct an animal alphabet series make-over.

You will notice that there are some additional letters in the 'after' section. Over time I have added a second option to the more popular letters (a, u, n, & j currently). I am sooooo thrilled with the outcome!

Combination

There are two print sets in my shop that I just adore; the alphabet prints, and the custom birth prints.

Finally I came up with a way to combine the two:

New Work (Part V)

This is something I've wanted to do for a long long time.

I have always loved my alphabet prints, and wanted to somehow work them into more of a poster style print. Here is what I came up with:

New U

I love my animal alphabet prints.

And over time I've been working on making some additional animal alphabet prints for certain letters. One letter I felt really needed a second letter was U. My original print is "U is for Unicorn." This animal is a little girly, so I decided I needed a second animal for the letter U.

I went with Urchin:

Both letter U's available in my shop.

What do you think? I think he's pretty darn cute myself!

The Animal Alphabet

I love my animal alphabet print series.

It was so much fun to draw out and color the last summer that we spent in our apartment.

And every now and again a customer will ask me about switching out an animal or reworking the colors to fit the decor of their child's bedroom/playroom etc. I am always excited about these requests because I really enjoy seeing how the prints look in new color combinations, or with the different animals in my shop.

This latest request was no objection.

I LOVE the colors requested for the "Lucas" set of letters, and Lucas' mom and dad also asked me if I could switch out a couple of the more girly animals (namely, the unicorn!) for something a bit more 'ferocious,' as they put it :)

Now, I am no good at making ferocious animals, and I tend to turn all that is mean or nasty looking into cute and adorable, but I think the Urchin came out pretty cool!

They also had me change the cow out for my 'Under the Sea-Crab' and the Sheep out for my 'Barnyard - Squirrel.' All in all I think it will look wonderful in a little boy's room, and I think I might make the Urchin a permanent feature in my shop!

J is for:

Jaguar!

Originally a custom order, I loved the finished result of this cute Jaguar so much that I decided to make him a permanent animal in my shop. He is one of two letter J options (the other being the original 'J is for Jellyfish').
