F.O.X.Y

I was so excited when I got this request! I was asked to customize a couple of my alphabet prints into a lovely little package for a little boy's 1st birthday. Apparently he is a cute red head who has been affectionately nicknamed 'foxy.' (too cute!) I went straight to work changing the F is for Frog into a Fox, and reworking the print colors so that they were browns and red/oranges. I was so excited with the way it turned out, that I had to share it on here.
The other reason I am posting this customized letter set, is because I wanted to show an example of the way I can customize the prints in my shop. The sky's the limit when it comes to customizing things! Plus, I am happy to get custom requests every now and again because I like to spice it up! :) Hope you like the prints!

Making Progress

I managed to get a few groupings of the alphabet prints together and I am quite pleased with the way that has turned out. I thought I'd post a couple of pictures of them on here before I undergo the task of adding them to all of my alphabet print listings.
I am hoping that these pictures give people an even better idea of how the prints will actually look in their homes, instead of just on a computer screen. Well, back to work I go! . . .Gotta push through all of this so I can get working on the new (awesome) series!

Slow Going But. . .
I think this is worth it. The pictures kind of speak for themselves, but I've decided to undergo the task of showing groupings of my prints together.
From day one I imagined that these prints would be grouped together, different animals, different colors, and so on. It seemed high time I actually give people an example of what that would look like!
I am doing a spring cleaning of sorts in the shop and this is the first step of many changes you will see over the next few months! (there is a new series in the works. yessss.)
Hope you like the groupings!

Fiber Dreams

Do you remember way back when I said I had to have a crocheted scarf? And that because I can't crochet my wonderful friend Mitsy(artmind) said she would gladly do it for me? It came!
This past Saturday I received the most wonderful package ever from my BBF (that means Best Belgian Friend for those of you not in the know). She sent my scarf, slippers, surprises, CHOCOLATE.. there was so much in there that I was almost jumping up and down as I pulled out surprise after surprise.
Today I am going to show you a picture of the finished scarf, with matching felted flower brooch. If you want to make your own brooch go here. She has a great tutorial on making them.
I'll post picture of some of the other goodies in due time. I wanted the scarf to have a post all of it's own. It is too beautiful to be sharing space with other crocheted/felted goodies. :)
Thank you Mitsy. You Rock! (and made my entire week!)

7 Random Things
So the wonderful Jaimee of ModernClassicsKids has tagged me! Here I go, 7 things you didn't know you wanted to know about moi:

1. I'm a lefty, and I was born in August. When I was little I formed a lefty club with my grandpa, a lefty also born in August, and we are the only members. We have yet to meet anyone else who meets the criteria for joining our club (yes, we take it pretty seriously) :)
2. I rescued our Lhasa, Nicholi.
3. I am from a town so small it has no traffic lights.
4. I started college in special education, but ended up with a degree in ceramics. My secret wish has always been to work at a school for the blind in ceramics.
5. I knit. Obsessively.
6. I'm afraid of frogs. Their hopping is too spontaneous, and I live in fear one might hop on me (irrational?)
7. I was a bari sax jazz musician in highschool. I'm only 5"1' so the bari sax is roughly as tall as me. I miss it lots and lots.
