Invitations

So I meant for this to be posted last week, but that is what you get when you combine an active 11month old with a sick mom. Anyway, better late than never!

Anyway I am starting new in the card shop for 2012.

This has been something I've wanted to do for a little over a year now. I love invitations, and decided it was time to offer them along with my save the dates, calendars, and everyday greeting cards.

At first the Caroline Collection was my favorite, but now I think the Samantha Collection has taken over first place as my personal favorite :-)

Save That Date

I love how they turned out, and hope to do more very soon. Do you have a favorite? I keep going back on forth on which is my favorite, but I think if I had to choose I would say the woodsy floral cards. :-)

Since I had my little boy life has been an evolving schedule.

When he was born our days were segmented into two hours time slots. Change Baby. Feed Baby. Have an hour to clean or sleep. Repeat.

As he grew the time in between feedings grew, and we are in a good groove. My child was born without the need for naps so fitting in time for work on etsy has been tricky. I'm lucky if he takes a 20 minute nap these days, so most work is done once the other half comes home and can take care of the wee one.

The main thing I had been focusing on was actually time related as well! Finishing the calendars for my card shop was my main goal. I went all out this year creating five different calendars. And because I am so happy with them, I decided to offer free shipping on them for this week only. You can read all about it here!

2012 Wall Calendar

This year I made not one, but five different Wall Calendars for my card shop.

I decided to try out some new sizes and themes (all birds, all flowers, etc.) instead of just using a mix of images.

2011 Calendar

Finally!

I realized October is rapidly drawing to its end, and decided it was high time I got my Wall Calendar for 2011 designed and in the shop.

New Cards

Why did I not post this sooner?!

Earlier this month I added two new cards to my Olive and Ruby shop:

The Little Dodo

The Little Field Mouse

I really love the way both of them have come out. I also have two more cards almost ready to be listed in the shop! More on that once they are up (this time I will post the update on here in a timely fashion) .

Dodo

A few days back I was asked about a custom order.

This time it was for a custom card.

A Dodo Bird card.

I hadn't drawn any new images for my cards in a while and I thought this would be a great opportunity to get me back into card illustration mode. Of course, I immediately said yes!

This customer knew exactly what she wanted, which made it super easy for me to design the card she was envisioning. She wanted the dodo image on the front with a small, sweet, and personal message for her late son, and Fun Facts about Dodo's on the back.

And can I just say the 'Fun Facts' were really quite fun!? Things like:

- Dodo's are related to pigeon's

- Dodo's are extinct but not from human consumption, as they were not a pleasant tasting bird

- Dodo's were flightless and fearless

- Dodo's were often mistaken as 'dumb' because of their natural curiosity and sweet nature

I wrapped up the last of this order today, and I've rather fallen in love with the little Dodo illustration. I'm thinking he might need to be a permanent fixture in the shop.

With life slowly getting back to normal I've finally had some time on my hands to create new work. First I did the Monster Crew for my print shop, and today I've added three new cards to Olive and Ruby:

I have finally added some Save the Date cards to my Olive and Ruby shop! Right now there are only these three:

But in time I hope to have a lot more in there! You can find them here. 

I am taking a small break from working on them, to finish a new type of card I want to put up in the shop. I won't give away any details until it's completed (and I know it will work), but I am super super excited about it, and look forward to seeing what people think!

Announcement!

When I first started out on Etsy I sold two things. Cards and Prints. If you look at my shop now all you see is prints. This is because I ultimately decided the two should be separate. 

So here you have it! My brand new, cards only, Etsy Shop: Olive and Ruby

As of right now you can find cards in 10packs and 6packs. They will come with either recycled brown kraft envelopes or metallic cream colored envelopes. I am uploading all the cards with kraft envelopes first, and next week you will see the cards paired with the cream colored envelopes. As it is brand new I am still working a few things out. Please let me know what you think! I would love all the feedback I can get!
